KalAkaua's Cabinet of Ministers, 1886

The year is 1886. The American hold on the Kingdom of Hawai'i grows stronger by the day. Despite the great prosperity brought by the 1875 Treaty of Reciprocity between the Kingdom and the United States, the deal has come at the expense of the Kingdom's sovereignty. King Kalakaua can sense the threat of a coup, backed by American business interests, on the horizon. He has called upon his cabinet and his closest personal advisors to legally defend the Kingdom of Hawai'i and preserve the monarchy.
