beyond the putting green: the PGA/liv Golf Merger

Location: boswell 202

Since 1916, the Professional Golfers’ Association has been the world’s premier professional golf tour, hosting every major tournament and giving the sport an enduring sense of continuity and tradition. Now, a new challenger to the throne of professional golf has appeared: LIV Golf. Funded by the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund, LIV has appeared on the scene without pedigree or tradition, but with a large enough wallet to poach some of the biggest names in golf from the PGA. In a desperate bid to save their sport from division and destruction in a crowded media landscape, the PGA has come to the negotiating table to merge with their new nemesis. Delegates will navigate the complexities of corporate mergers, experience the epic highs and lows of professional golf, and battle for the soul of a sport.
